Greene County Schools will begin accepting 2025-2026 Kindergarten registration on Monday, March 31, 2025. Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will be online! To register your child, you need to go to the Greene County Schools website, www.greenek12.org, and click on the word Registration at the top.
Once you have completed registration, a representative of the school will contact you to complete the screening for the school system's Kindergarten program.
ITEMS NEEDED
Parents will need immunization forms on a TN state form (which can be obtained from the health department if needed), birth certificates (see below), and proof of residence to assist in the registration process.
Original Birth Certificate (recommended), Mother's Copy, or Proof of Birth
For children born in Tennessee, the parent may request a copy of the certificate of birth at www.vitalcheck.com or by visiting the Greene County Health Department in Greeneville, Tenn. There is a minimal fee for this service. Applicants will need to supply a picture identification, mother’s legal name, county of birth and hospital of birth.
Children born outside the state of Tennessee will need to request the birth certificate from their state of birth. Contact information can be supplied through the Greene County Health Department in Greeneville, Tenn.
A student must be enrolled and registered using the exact name that appears on the certificate of birth or certificate of adoption. Name changes due to the marriage of the student or other court proceedings will be entered in the student’s record upon receipt of an official documentation through the court agency (TCA 49-6-5106).
Exception: Students in foster care, homeless students, immigrant students, migrant students, and English Language students will be admitted while the school works with family to obtain necessary documents.
