West Greene High School Technology Plan
2007-2012

Introduction
West Greene High School is located in the western part of Greene County in the Town of Mosheim, Tennessee. The school currently has 734 students enrolled and 43 certified faculty members. Every classroom at West Greene has internet connectivity through T1 lines.  All computers are connected to the internet through the Internet Service Provider ENA (Education Networks of America).  West Greene has one central computer lab with 34 computers that is located in the Library.  The bussiness department has two classrooms with a total of 51 student computers.  The Innovations lab currently has 16 student computer stations and the Agricultural department is getting a lab of 16 or more computers.
Technology Vision
The technology vision for West Greene High School is that students and faculty will gain the technical skills necessary to become effective users of technology in an ever-increasing technology-driven society.
Technology Mission
The technology mission of West Greene High School is to provide students with a wide variety of technological experiences and instruction, thus enabling them to become successful, productive, and able users of technology.
Technology Goals
West Greene High School has set the following goals for the use of instructional technology:
  1. To make technology an integral part of the curriculum
    • Increase and encourage use of technology
    • Assist teachers in integrating technology into classroom instruction
    • Provide training to faculty members
    • Provide technology training and instruction to students

  1. To increase student access to technology through increased technological resources
    • Acquire additional hardware and software necessary to meet the needs of West Greene High School
    • Seek partnerships with businesses, industry, and educational institutions
    • Encourage and promote alumni and community involvement

  1. To provide needed technological support
    • Retain the Technology Support Teacher to assist faculty and staff and to maintain building technology
    • Utilize system support personnel and procedures
    • Attend workshops and conferences related to technology
