Attendance Policy

1.  Any class periods that are missed more than 2 times during a 6 weeks are to be made up time for time in one of the make-up sessions or the student will not receive passing grades for the class.

2.  Any class time missed more than 7 times during a term must be made up to receive credit for that class.

3.  Students will have the opportunity to make up any work during the make-up sessions.  All time-for-time make-up must be made before the end of the 6 weeks.

4.  In the event of special circumstances, students who have missed more than 2 days may appeal to a review board in writing with the appropriate documents.  The review board will meet at the end of the 6 weeks and will then notify the students of the results of the review.

5.  For the purpose of this policy, a tardy is defined as arrival to the classroom after the tardy bell.  When a student is tardy for the 3rd time, he/she will be charged with a class absence.  All tardies over 3 will be reported to the office.

6.  Make-up sessions will be scheduled by the principal of each school.

7.  All students missing class no more than 2 periods may choose to be excused from the semester exam and receive a score equal to the average of the three 6 weeks grading periods.
