Marketing I Syllabus

Overview: Students will start with a broad overview of what Marketing is and why it is so important to everybody, regardless of what profession they choose. Students will also see the importance of Economics in their lives and how it ties in with Marketing. Next students will examine the difference between domestic and global marketing. Students will then examine the importance of good communication skills in the workplace. Students will also be taught selling skills. Students will be introduced to promotion. Students will learn about the channels of distribution. Pricing will be examined as well as product planning. The semester will conclude with a look at careers in Marketing.
Grading: Below is the point system used in Marketing. At the end of the six weeks, your points will be added up and totaled. This total will be divided by the total points possible.

Rules:
1. Be respectful. Be respectful to both me and other students.
2. Be on time. If you are not in your seat when the bell rings, you are tardy. Three tardies is an absence. Every tardy after the third counts as an absence also. Be on time.
3. Marketing notebook, pencil/pen, Student Handbook and Marketing Essentials book will be needed everyday.
Marketing II Syllabus

Overview: The semester will start with a chapter on management. Students will then look at advertising. A unit on purchasing will follow which will include purchasing math. After a chapter on marketing research, students will start a unit on entrepreneurship. The semester will conclude with a unit on career planning.

Overview: Travel and Tourism is a growing industry encompassing a variety of businesses and employment opportunities. This course prepares students for gainful employment opportunities and/or post-secondary training in the industry of travel and tourism. Content provides students the opportunity to acquire marketable skills by examining both the industry and its career opportunities and by developing the human relations, communications and technical skills needed for advancement.
