Our Science Fair 2007
      Mosheim Elementary / Middle School conducted its annual Science Fair February 12-14, 2007.  Students did an outstanding job exploring the world of science by making 425 projects.  Many lived up to the rigorous standards required by our school.  Dr. Joe Parkins, Director of the Greene County School System, presented the awards Wednesday, February 14, 2007.  Mrs. Jones presented him with a plaque thanking him for his work with our fair over the years.  Greene County Board of Education member Claude Weems also assisted with the presentation of awards to the winners.  Best of Show Winners were Austin G. and Laura M. (tie) for grades 3-5 and Alison W. for grades 6-8.   Each best of show winner received a portable color television donated by our partner in education, Wal-Mart Distribution Center and a $50.00 check  Each received a perfect score.  We would like to acknowledge the work of  third grade teachers Nancy Causey, Sarah Gray, and Amy Taylor and our judges from Walters State Community College during this educational event of our school.  We will have participants in the Greene County Schools Science Fair in March and the East Tennessee State University Science Fair in Johnson City in April.
          Grade Level Winners were as follows:  Kindergarten-1st Heather M., 2nd Meiah D. and 3rd Matthew T. and Brooke W. (tie);
First Grade-1st Miranda M., 2nd Dalton R. and Courtney J. (tie), and 3rd Preston F. and Matthew S. (tie); Second Grade-1st Nate K., 2nd Kayla W., and 3rd Hayley W. and Zachary F. (tie); Third Grade-1st Madison M., 2nd Dylan B., and 3rd Zachary C.; Fourth Grade-1st Austin G., 2nd Kaleb P., and 3rd Erica R.; Fifth Grade-1st Laura M., 2nd Corey F., and 3rd Sadie B.; Sixth Grade-1st Connor B., 2nd Megan R., and 3rd Elizabeth M. and Courtney S. (tie); Seventh Grade-1st Bridget C., 2nd Zakary F., and 3rd Heath S.; and 8th Grade-1st Alison W., 2nd Megan T., and 3rd Megan S.  Each grade level winner received a gold medallion for 1st place, a silver medallion for 2nd place, and a bronze medallion for 3rd place.
