
On Thursday,
March 2, DeBusk students and faculty celebrated the Tenth
Anniversary
of Read Across America. Our librarian, Kristen Caton, organized the
day's activities.

During the day, several Greeneville citizens read to students. Principal, Chris Malone read to PreK; Dr. Dan Donaldson, Pastor at First Presbyterian Church, read to 1st grade students School; Nurse Sandra Brown read to 2nd graders; Dr. Paul Fox Read to the 3rd grade; Mayor Alan Broyles read to the 4th grade; and Officer Holt of the Greene County Sheriff's Office and Coach Dykes read to 5th grade. |

| Many students came dressed as their favorite book characters and participated in the "character parade" during the afternoon. Our Cat in the Hat librarian, Kristen Caton, led the parade. Winners of the character parade were as follows: 1st to Blaine (Robin Hood), 2nd to Ethan (Woody from Toy Story), and 3rd to Trevor (Dirt Bike Rider from the book Super Bikes). | ![]() |

Green Eggs and Ham was voted as the favorite Dr. Seuss book; How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat received second and third place honors. |
