The goals of the DeBusk Parent Teacher Organization are the following:

To encourage parent, student, and teacher involvement in DeBusk School.
To support the highest standards in all areas of our school and community - academically, socially, and environmentally.
To provide support, encouragement, and appreciation to the students and faculty and staff of DeBusk School.

Everyone (parents, grandparents, teachers, students, community members) is invited to play an active roll in the parent teacher organization. Membership is only $3.00 per membr. We need volunteers! The officers for this year are as follows: Tanya Casteel, President; Victoria Walker, Vice President; Tamara Wykle, Secretary; Holly Vaughn and Lisa Covington, Treasurer; Vanessa Gallihar and Jean Ottinger, Faculty Representatives. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED ON ONE OR MORE OF OUR ONGOING PROJECTS:

Purchase lockers for the 6-8 pod; the cost will be approximately $4,900.

Connect the concrete walkways to the music room - first on the playground side.

Develop a walking track on the school grounds.

Help with duties during school-wide fund raisers.

Have a "snack shack" for students twice a month.

Promote the Accelerated Reading Program by purchasing more books for the library and provide prizes and incentives for students who reach the different levels in the program.

Work towards purchasing more books for our library.

Plan the Spring Carnival. Get donatons for the silent auction.

Reward students who have perfect attendance for the school year.

Show appreciation to faculty and staff.

Clean up and improve our playground.
