Greene County Schools Technology Coaches

Starting in 2006-2007, the Building Level Technologist position will be removed as a member of the technology support team at our schools. It will be replaced by a new position called the Technology Coach.  The primary difference will be that the Technology Coach will assist teachers in using technology at their school. Instead of being the ‘fixit person’ for computers or network problems, they will be available to teachers for assistance in integrating technology into their everyday teaching.

There will be no technical certification tied to this position. The supplement amounts will be $300 annually for the Technology Coach to assist teachers throughout the year. In addition, another $300 can be earned when the Technology Coach and their principal submits an after school staff development plan that is to be approved by the technology coordinator. This plan would consist of four 1.5 hour sessions throughout the year that are scheduled after school for teachers to attend as staff development opportunities for technology integration. This plan would need to be approved by August of 2006 so that the supplements can be setup accordingly in payroll for the 06-07 school year.
