Internet Filtering

Internet filtering now exists in all of our schools. Education Networks of America (ENA) is the contracted provider for delivering K-12 Internet access for Tennessee K-12 schools. ENA has established a content filtering service that is available to all LEAs in the State of Tennessee.

The filter provides the following:

reasonable blockage to sites that not only have little or no K-12 educational value, but also are inappropriate for K-12 students.

blockage of sites such as MTV.com (Music videos), WWF.com (Studio Wrestling), and other games and entertainment sites that generate high traffic levels

    blockage of unsupervised open chat

blockage of search results of keywords that could generate results which would be inappropriate for K-12 students. Please note that searches of valid educational topics such as human reproduction are not blocked.
