Building Level Webmaster


TITLE: Building Level Webmaster

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be an employee of the Greene County School System. Building Level Webmasters who wish to be webmaster certified for the following school year must meet requirements before the beginning of that school year to earn the extra supplement. Certifying requirements for webmasters each year will be determined by the system's technology coordinator. Certification is recommended but not required. Extra supplement for certification will begin with the 98-99 school year.

REPORTS TO: Principal of assigned school

JOB GOAL: The Building Level Webmaster will be responsible for creating and publishing the school's webpage. The webpages will be updated periodically. The webmaster will also be responsible for promoting the use of the Internet in the building.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 1.  Keeps necessary records concerning webpages.
 2.  Helps to coordinate building level computer-related activities.
 3.  Helps to support building level technology concerns.
 4.  Acts as a consultant to others in the building on Internet
     related matters.
 5.  Attends local meetings concerning webpages and the Internet.
 6.  Helps to advance the use of technology in the building.
 7.  Participates in solving building level technology problems and 
     concerns.
 8.  Assists with the planning for technology integration in the building.
 9.  Gains knowledge by attending appropriate training and conferences.
10.  Stays abreast of technological advancements.
11.  Promotes the using of technology to enhance education.
12.  Attends to the day to day needs of the school's webpages.
13.  Troubleshoots Internet problems.
14.  Serves as a member of committees and technology teams.
15.  Meets requirements and guidelines concerning state and local 
     webpage issues.
16.  Performs other duties as required and/or assigned by administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Supplement. - $200.00 ($400.00 if Webmaster attends an HTML class {or another class approved by the District Technology Coordinator} during the past school year or during the summer before the start of the current school year). Duties to be performed during times when not responsible for students.  TST's may serve as his/her school's webmaster, but will not receive the additional supplement(s) unless all webpage activities are done outside the scope of the TST's regularly assigned hours and duties.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal and the system's technology coordinator.

Note:   Principals may approve a volunteer webmaster for his/her school provided the principal is aware and makes the volunteer aware that the volunteer webmaster must adhere to the same rules and standards expected of all webmasters, including any board policy that is in place regarding school webpages.
