Parents are invited
to email teachers and staff members to keep up on the latest classroom
activities and assignments. All of the teachers are now set up in the
email system and NetWare network. We have several new teachers and
their addresses are available.
We are also taking
advantage of membership in United Streaming. United Streaming enables
teachers to download content related videos for use in their
classrooms. The videos are available in sections or in their
entirety. The sections provide excellent video content for
incorporation in PowerPoint presentations.
Teachers are using
the Gradebook Portal to report attendance and enter grades. Many of them
also use this state program to keep an electronic grade book.
Mr. Murphy is using
football software to highlight plays and provide feedback to the team. He
also uses a DVD software program to burn game videos.
A+ dvanced Learning
Software has been upgraded and new titles made available to all classes
and the Course Recovery Program.
Student Locator
pages are available to each teacher on our Intranet Webserver.
Teachers can check schedules or locate students by using their web
browser.
C-DHS has two
Intranet web servers and three Internet web servers this year. This
provides more flexibility and ensures that our web presence is maintained
at all times.
Mrs. Ricker’s
Journalism class has been using Quark Express to produce outstanding
editions of the Charger, our school newspaper. In addition, they
have created several promotional DVDs. Also in 2007-2008 this class has
produced calendars and Seasonal sport yearbooks.
Mrs. Ricker’s Journalism
class also produced a short television news broadcast of school happenings
Chuckey-Doak has
gone through an update for IP addresses. The main Chuckey-Doak Web
Server is now http://96.4.196.34 and the
faculty web server is linked from the faculty pages.
SSMS the State of Tennessee Student Managements System
required a RAM upgrade on all office workstations. We have just
finished the upgrade and computers are running much faster.
Microsoft Office
2007 has been installed on most teacher machines. The teachers have all
been updated to Microsoft Outlook for their email client.
Mrs. Gaby is using
a CPS system to help quiz her students on materials.
