SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT STEERING COMMITTEE
The School Improvement Steering Committee consists of the principal, one parent, one student, community member, and a group of teachers trained in development, leadership, and implementation of common goals to improve our school. These team leaders, as they are called, represent a group of teachers who serve on a designated team.
The steering committee meets one time per month to discuss: implementation of the current year's plan, improvements or modifications to the plan, information and fact gathering, development of new goals as needed, and team reports.
There are six teams that meet one time per month. Teacher and staff members are assigned to teams based on qualifications. An agenda is prepared ahead of time and followed by the team leader. Members make suggestions, develop ideas, and help carry out their team's plan for the year.
