Technology Happenings

2007-2008

Microsoft Training- 

·Outlook- All teachers have been trained on how to use Outlook for email. Additional tips have been shared with those who wish to used the more advanced features of the program. 

·Office 2007- After school training sessions were made available for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint allowing teachers to receive training on utilizing the features of the new version o the software.


Unitedstreaming-All teachers have had refresher tips on using videos to enhance classroom instruction. Steps to utilizing the interactive atlas will be shared during the February in-service day. 



Type To Learn3/Keyboard Covers-In addition to using the typing program we have purchased keyboard covers to help deter those who look at keys. This will hopefully help them to be more dedicated at learning the proper way to type. 


Technology TrainingTeachers will have the opportunity to attend technology sessions after school. This will helpthem to gain knowledge on integrating technology into their everyday teaching.


PowerpointTeachers are better utilizing Powerpoint as a presentation tool in their classroom. Some use it as a teaching aid, while others use it to create links to various internet sites and or assignments. 


Projectors- We have purchased more projectors for the classroom. Currently we have projectors in 8 of 10 homerooms in grades 4-8. In addition to these we have projectors in the labs. 


Reading Coach- Students are using the Reading Coach program during the school day and after school thanks to a grant from the Niswonger Foundation. 


BugglesBeezy – Students in grades k-3 are utilizing this textbook software to practice and review skills taught in reading.
